Nick Hughes has been advising individuals and families toward achieving and maintaining financial independence since 2007. His experience includes navigating his clients through the Great Recession as well as helping them pursue profit from the longest bull market in US History. He developed the Retirement Income Harvesting Strategy in seeking to provide a rising income for clients throughout their retirement years. He also contributes regularly to the Backstage Pass blog.
Nick focuses his practice to meet the needs of retirees as well as business and medical professionals and their families. He believes that a successful financial plan can be measured by better outcomes for his clients. "Ultimately, my goal for every client is to simplify their financial lives and provide them with more confidence in an uncertain world," says Mr. Hughes.
Nick grew up in Chickamauga, GA where he attended Gordon Lee High School. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Finance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He places an emphasis on continuous improvement and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional which requires an individual to meet rigorous standards and act in their clients best interest. Nick has helped provide financial literacy to hundreds of Hamilton County students through the "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" program. He also enjoys sharing his expertise on retirement and estate planning topics and has taught classes at Chattanooga State and Cleveland State. He is currently serving on the board of the Chattanooga Sertoma Club and enjoys helping a variety of causes in the community.
Nick and his wife Teffeny, sons Liam and Colin, and two dogs reside in Apison,TN. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, supporting his son's sports teams, watching football and experimenting on the grill.
