As one of the original “veterans” here at Franklin Wealth Management, I’d like to be the first to wish Joe and the rest of the team a Happy Anniversary. I was not on the team 20 years ago when Joe first started in the business, but it was 5 years ago when myself, Joe, Nick and Arlene migrated to LPL Financial and started “Franklin Wealth Management”.

We have grown and accomplished a lot during the past 5 years. During this time span, we became a Registered Investment Advisor and fully embraced fee-based advice. For our clients this greatly reduces the inherent conflict of interest that exists when we profit directly from the sale of a product. As a fiduciary, our business prospers more as a result of our clients continued success and growth. We now have the ability to act more quickly on our clients’ behalf to profit from investment opportunities and to better protect portfolios when needed. Being an RIA has also created more efficiency in our ability to communicate information with our clients as well as to provide portfolio management services on a larger scale.

The growth of our business has enabled us to add additional team members to help with client service. I encourage you to read the office news section so that you can become acquainted with some of our newer staff members and how they can assist you. Over the past couple of years, two other groups affiliated with our Registered Investment Advisor and we now operate out of 2 separate offices. These other advisors each have their own areas of expertise and are available to collaborate when the opportunity arises. Our assets under management has more than doubled over the last five years and we now manage over $200 million in assets.

Over the past 5 years we have also been able to deploy new and better technology. Tools like the new Wealth Management System, Account View, Morningstar Workstation, and Orion performance reporting to name a few, have given us extra capabilities to service our clients even better. If you were not able to attend our cyber-security and technology tools workshop, we encourage you to ask us about these new tools.

Just recently, we have added TD Ameritrade as another custodian. We want to offer our clients the freedom to affiliate with whichever custodian will best fits their needs going forward. Once again this gives us another arrow in our quiver to better service our clients, offering them additional resources.

We have learned and grown a lot over the past five years. We have added additional staff, new technology and continue to provide innovative advice to our clients, new and old. We hope the primary theme our clients have noticed is that we are working to stay on the cutting edge with regard to technology, advice and communication initiatives. We welcome additional feedback for how we can service you better, and we want you to know that we are listening and implementing your ideas.

It will be exciting to see what the future holds for Franklin Wealth Management! It's been an enjoyable ride.
