Joe lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee with his wife Jennifer, their three children: Sydney, Jack and Walker, their three cats and dog; Ollie, Loki, Rosie and Blitz. In their spare time they enjoy traveling, scuba diving and other water sports, games involving sticks and racquets, and UT Football.

He serves as a former board member of the Ronald McDonald House of Chattanooga, immediate past president of the Chattanooga Breakfast Rotary Club, and is a member of the Financial Planning Association and Stuart Heights Baptist Church.
